The Mecklenburg Bar Association YLD Young Lawyer of the Year Award recognizes the outstanding contributions young lawyers are making to the practice of law and the Mecklenburg County community as a whole.
Recipients have shown outstanding contributions to (1) the Bar, (2) the practice of law, (3) the community, (4) the recipient's clients, and/or (5) the recipient's firm or organization. A special emphasis is placed on professional contributions that further the purposes and objectives of the MBAand the YLD.
SELECTION CRITERIA
The Award recipient will be selected based on outstanding general overall contribution to the MBA, the practice of law, the community, a client or the recipient's firm or organization, with an emphasis on professional contributions that further the purposes and objectives of the MBA and the YLD.
To be eligible, the nominee must:
• Practice law in Mecklenburg County
• Meet the definition of a "Young Lawyer" as defined by the MBA YLD (36 years old or younger or within their first 10 years of practicing law in Mecklenburg County)
• Be a member of the MBA YLD
