Courthouse Access Card Administrative Order signed October 4, 2019
All 26th Judicial District Bar members with a current Access Card will renew their cards beginning July 1 and ending September 30. This renewal schedule coincides with the 26th JD Bar dues renewal time period. Eligibility for Access Card renewal will be specified on each 26th JD Bar member's fee invoice.

Enter the Mecklenburg County Courthouse through the employee line at the screening station at the main entrance to the courthouse at McDowell and 4th Street.
- Access to all courtrooms scheduled for use each day by 8:30 a.m.
- Access to conference rooms outside of the courtrooms scheduled for use each day by 7:30 a.m.
- Access to the following attorney-only workrooms: Workroom 4228, Attorney Workroom in Suite 6000, and the conference rooms to the left of 4222, 4224, 4226 and 4227. The designated conference rooms on the fourth floor permit use by attorneys with their clients and witnesses as well.
Fees:

An initial (non-refundable) fee of $30.00 will be charged for the Access Card.

A $5.00 annual (non-refundable) fee will be charged to maintain the Access Card. The annual maintenance fee will not be pro-rated, and will be assessed in the first quarter of each fiscal year (July 1 - June 30) after the fiscal year in which the initial Card fee was paid. If the maintenance fee is not paid by September 30th of each year, a $30.00 reapplication fee will be required to maintain a current Card.

These fees are waived for Assistant District Attorneys and Assistant Public Defenders.
To Obtain a Courthouse Access Card:
26th Judicial District Bar members can apply for a Courthouse Access Card by completing the Courthouse Access Card Form. Once your application has been accepted, the access card will be added to your member record and you will receive an invoice to the email address you have on file with the Bar.
