Partner, Cranfill Sumner
Hometown: Charlotte, NC
Education: Campbell Law School
Your most vivid memory of your BLI experience: Singing karaoke at the Retreat with some of the best attorneys in the region who I had not had the pleasure of meeting prior.
What you value most about your BLI experience: The time and guidance in self-reflection. It is a luxury to have the time to be able to “work on yourself” in an meaningful and effective way. I also value the friendships that I’ve made in BLI—attorneys who I respect and still care about years later!
Advice you'd give to the next BLI class: Be honest and open with yourself and your classmates in this process. You will get more out of it.
Your favorite role with the MCB/MBF: My favorite role was on the D&I taskforce. I felt that we were significantly impacting the Bar in a positive way.
Current personal or professional goals: To grow the International Business Law and Aviation practice groups at Cranfill Sumner and personally to learn how to be a great mommy to my little one.
Greatest leadership accomplishment and why: Becoming the leader of the CSLaw International Business Law group, because it was the culmination of over 10 years of work in that direction towards an area of law that I am passionate about and demonstrated the firm’s confidence in my ability to lead the excellent group of attorneys.
Favorite place to go in Charlotte: Pre-pandemic = Amelie's. Post-pandemic = our neighborhood's little parks (picnics with baby girl!).
What you do when you're not lawyering: Playing with baby girl and learning how to fly airplanes (I need to get back into lessons since I took a break after my little one was born).
Favorite vacation spot: I can’t wait until international travel is more “normal”- we have places to go and people to see!
