Happy New Year! As we step into 2025, I am excited to share some recent highlights and upcoming events within our association.

Holiday Party Recap: Our annual Holiday Party in December was a fantastic way to close out the year. This year it was held at The Hamilton and featured a special visit from Santa, as well as unforgettable Karaoke! It was wonderful to see so many of our members come together to celebrate the season. The evening was filled with festive cheer, great conversations, and a sense of community that truly embodies the spirit of our association.

Lunch with a Lawyer Kick-Off: For the 18th year, the MBA is continuing its partnership with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools through our Lunch with a Lawyer Program. In November the program kicked off with a well-attended luncheon hosted by Fourth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals Chief Judge Albert Diaz and North Carolina District Court Judge Cecilia Oseguera. This annual initiative has garnered a record number of student participants this year, reflecting the growing interest and enthusiasm for legal mentorship. Thank you to all our members who have volunteered their time to make this program a success.

Section Events: Our various sections continue to host monthly lunches across the county, including meetings in Ballantyne, SouthPark, University, Ayrsley and more! These events provide a fantastic opportunity for members to network, share insights, and stay updated on the latest developments in their respective fields. Most lunches are free for section members. Sports Leagues: Get ready to lace up your sneakers! Our basketball league is gearing up for another exciting season. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or just looking to have some fun, come join us on the court. If you haven’t played on a team before, don’t forget to utilize the Section listservs to see who else may want to form a team!
